Rehab & Preventives

The hub for rehabilitation plans and preventive programs — track each player's phase, owners, return-to-play estimate and today's session.

What it is

Rehab & Preventives is the tracking hub for rehabilitation plans (post-injury return-to-play programs) and preventive programs (injury-risk reduction), showing each plan's phase, owners, return-to-play estimate and today's session across the squad.

When you use it

To oversee who's in rehab and who's on a preventive program — monitor progress, spot who's near return or blocked, and open a plan to edit its phases, sessions and gate criteria. You create plans here (from an injury, an evaluation, a GPS flag, or from scratch) and manage them through to clearance.

How it works

Read the two sections. Rehab & return-to-play lists plans linked to an injury (athlete, plan, diagnosis & phase, RTP estimate, owners, today's session, status); Preventive lists risk-reduction programs (with a risk metric and programme week instead of a diagnosis and RTP). Filters — All, Rehab, Preventive, Near RTP (≤7 days), Blocked — apply across both. A KPI strip shows in-rehab count, near-RTP, blocked today, and cleared this month.

Create a plan. New plan → pick Rehab or Preventive → the Rehab Planner opens: assign a player, link an injury (rehab), set the phase, choose exercises from the library, set dates and status, and assign owners (physio, S&C, coach).

Build and track it. Inside a plan you lay out sessions day by day from blocks (warm-up, mobility, activation, strength, plyometrics, on-field, conditioning, assessment, …), each with its duration, exercises and load. Rehab phases carry progression criteria — the gates to clear before advancing. Status moves across on track → near RTP → cleared, or blocked.

Manage. Change status, link an injury, assign owners, export to CSV, and view the history of cleared and archived plans.

Key concepts

Phases, gates and status. A rehab plan is phase-based: each phase has criteria (gates) to meet before moving on, and the plan carries a status (on track, near RTP, blocked, cleared, archived). The clinical content of those phases and gates is for the medical/performance staff to define — this documentation describes the tracking tool, not the criteria to apply.

Relation to the individual plan. Rehab and preventive plans and the player's individual training plan share the same exercise library and block system, but they are managed as separate plans — the app does not automatically copy a rehab plan into an individual plan (no automatic link was found in the code). In practice, staff maintain them in parallel; a return-to-play focus exists on the individual-plan side, but the two aren't auto-synced.

Return to availability — what it does and doesn't do. Completing a rehab plan is tracking only: marking a plan cleared removes it from the active lists and files it in history. It does not by itself change the linked injury's status or the player's availability. Returning the player to availability is done on the Injuries page (discharge) and reflected in Availability — the rehab plan and those steps are separate.

Where plans come from. A plan can be created from an active injury, from an evaluation finding, from a GPS load/asymmetry flag, or manually — the source is recorded on the plan.

FAQ

Does clearing a rehab plan make the player available again? No — it just archives the plan. Clearing the injury (on the Injuries page) is what returns availability; the rehab plan is tracked separately.

Is a rehab plan the same as the player's individual plan? No. They share the exercise library and block builder but are separate plans with no automatic data link — you manage each on its own.

Who owns a plan? Each plan has one or more owners with a role — physio, S&C or coach.

How do I start a plan from an injury? Create a plan of kind Rehab and link the active injury; from there you build its phases and sessions.

  • Injuries — the injury a rehab plan is built around, and where clearance/availability happen.
  • Physio — treatments logged alongside a rehab program.
  • Availability — where the player's return to training is reflected.
  • Player Profile — the player's injury/availability summary.
